Running - 2
Strength training - 1
Weight loss for week - 0
Total weight loss - 27.5
The last two weeks of the year are a bit messed up. Not sure what happened but my excel spreadsheet that I keep my training / workouts got all discombobulated and I lost some data. Although since the last 2 weeks were really bad workout and eating weeks I guess maybe that is a sign!
But out with the old and in with the new. It's a new year and a new you....me!
We have signed up for the Graffiti Run, which is a fun 5K run. That will be my first official race event since my back surgery. Hopefully the weather will warm up!
I have been working on my training and race schedule for 2013 and am close to having the race schedule completed which will help me finish up my training schedule. I plan to complete at least 1 Olympic distance triathlon and a 1/2 marathon, I tentatively have my eyes set on 2 Sprint distance and 2 Olympic distance triathlons planned.
Training has definitely been off for the past 2 weeks with the holidays, house guests and enjoying too much good food and drink but I have no regrets and I'm ready to pick up the pace in the new year. I did have a bit of a set back with my back (haha, back with my back), anyway. I did some strength training exercises a week ago and my back became really sore. Of course I freaked out that I have done some serious damage to my back because it's taking a bit longer than expected to heal. I still have my flexibility and I can still do cardio so I think the ache is there but was probably there before. I also get some twinges in my left leg / glute but I was getting those before as well. So I'm remaining positive and aware but not letting it consume me.
I have established some solid health and fitness goals for myself this year and go into the new year with a better attitude than I have ever had. I'm confident that I'll get to my goal weight before the end of the first quarter and I'll finally complete an Olympic distance triathlon. I only wish I could go back to Luray, VA with my fellow She Does Tri teammates to conquer the Luray Triathlon since training for that event 2 years ago was the moment that my back went from just being a constant pain to being injured.
Best of luck to everyone in the new year. Lets make this our best year ever!
