Included stats for last week. It's been a great 2 weeks of training for me. I have completed 2 more goals for the year:
ChiRunning 10K program - I completed this yesterday with a 10K treadmill run. I was able to maintain a pace of 11.01. I was so happy because I originally wanted to maintain a 12 minute pace and actually beat it by 1 minute.
Lifetime Fitness Indoor Tri - I completed this today. This was a mini tri event consisting of 10 minute swim, 30 minute bike and a 20 minute run. Results have not come out yet but I think I swam 350 yds, biked 8.5 miles and ran 1.91 miles. I was hoping to do a 10 mile pace on the run and was just shy of that. I really enjoyed the race today, made me realize how much I missed doing triathlons and I'm looking forward to my first sprint race in May.
My weight loss is starting to slow down but that was to be expected. I'm 6 pounds away from my goal so it will start to get harder to lose the weight but hopefully as my training volume goes up I'll still be able to drop the weight. I would like to be at my goal weight by the end of March and I think that goal is still realistic. But as I've said before this is a life change and some times things take longer than you plan or expect the important part is staying the course. At times this journey has seemed easy but this is only the beginning and I know I'll have some tough times ahead BUT I have a great support crew and I'm confident and driven more than I have ever been.
Next week I start my ChiRunning 1/2 Marathon program, the good thing is I start out at a much lower mileage which will give me an opportunity to work on my speed. I also hope to get outside soon on my bike. I'll start out in the safe areas, ie neighborhood, before making my way out to the busy streets. When you have clipless pedals you want to ensure you have some confidence built up before hitting streets with trafffic. I'm sure I'll have plenty of bruises from falling off my bike because I have forgotten to unclip when coming to a stop. Been there done that :>)
