I think of this has my nemesis, although a different race, this is the distance I was training for a couple of years and experienced back problems that prevented me from competing. This year I feel stronger, mentally and physically. Don't get me wrong I'm still nervous about a lot of things but more confident with my overall abilities. First my swimming has improved and I'm comfortable calling myself a swimmer. My longest distance yet has been 2200 yds which is beyond what is needed for my race (1636 yds).
