This is why I'm doing this..........
I NEVER want to look like this again!
This was May 2003 and I'm disgusted every time I see this picture but most of all I'm disappointed that I let myself get to this and that it took me so long to re take control of my life. I used every excuse in the book but ultimately I have no one to blame but myself. I let some things in my life consume me and it continued to consume me off and on until March of 2012 when I took control of my life again. I vow to NEVER let that happen again. So my quest for completing an 1/2 Ironman this year comes from my desire to do something completely for myself.
1/27/14 - 2/2/14
Swim - 0
Bike - 1
Run - 3
Strength Training - 0
Weight loss (weekly / year - 0 lbs / 6 lbs
Mileage (weekly / 2014) -
Swim - 1000 yds / 1500 yds
Bike - 15 miles / 108.58 miles
Run - 12.46 miles / 60.18 miles
Not a great week since I didn't get any swimming in and only had 4 workout days but once again I got my running in which is important for me to stay on track. Still not having any luck with managing my food intake. I actually didn't even weigh in this week because I just didn't want to see it.
I know that this is a life change and that it will always be work, some days/weeks might be less work than others but in order to strive for a healthy life you have to work at it. Sorry the thoughts we had when we were 18 that we would be that thin the rest of our lives is bull!
This week I finish up my 10K training with a 6 mile run and then move on to my 1/2 marathon training. The hubby and I were chatting yesterday and I told him that I'm excited that I actually enjoy all 3 aspects of triathlon. I use to hate the swim because I wasn't any good at it and I use to dislike the run because I struggled with knee pain. But I learned to swim, well actually learned how to breathe and swim so now I enjoy my time in the water and as I lose more and more weight my knees hurt less and less. Going for a 4-5 mile run now is nothing like it was a few years ago. Of course the bike has always been my favorite, I'm not the fastest but I love pushing on the bike and I love the speed you can get but those hills can be a killer.
Happy February!

You are the bravest person I know...and the level of accountability to yourself is why you will never get to that point again. I am so proud of you!!
