The past 2 weeks I've been trying out the TriDot program. I'm currently on a plan focusing on the 1/2 marathon I have planned in March and then after that it is meant to move to a plan for the 1/2 Ironman. I'm enjoying the program because it's something different than what I'm use to but I don't like that it's a 7 day a week plan. It allows flexibility to move sessions around but I was a bit surprised at the volume I'm doing so early. If I was going to stick to this plan for the remainder of my training I think I would get burned out very quickly. I prefer to have at least 1 if not 2 days off a week and I typically do my long run during the week so I can do my long bike ride on the weekends. But I'm going to stick with it to see how it goes.
and her she is, the new tri bike that I purchased....isn't she a beauty!!!
I have added a Garmin Edge 500 with speed and cadence sensor. I also purchased an xlab turbo wing with water bottle holders and bags to carry extra tubes, tools, co2 canisters, etc. I still need to purchase a front hydration system and I eventually want to buy some new rims. But I would like to make that a reward for getting to my goal weight this year.
I have not figured out a name for her and I have not taken her for a ride outside just a couple of indoor training to get use to the seat. Hoping for some warm weather in the next couple of weeks to take her for some test rides in the neighborhood and get comfortable with the difference in the ride before heading out on any long rides.
One thing great about living in Texas is that it gets cold but usually doesn't last long. I was able to go for a 90 min run outside today because it was in the 50's actually got a bit warm. Aww love living in Texas!!
