Live to fight another day!

3/24/14 - 3/30/14 Swim - 4 Bike - 2 Run - 3 Strength Training - 1 Weight loss (weekly / year) - 0 lbs / 3 lbs Mileage (weekly / 2014)   Swim - 3900 yds / 16,700 yds      Bike - 48.3 miles / 381.48 miles   Run - 14.33 miles / 134.18 miles I woke up Saturday morning ready to go, I had to weigh in and then 7 miles to run! I got on the scale and received my first disappointment of the day - no weight gain.  This resulted in some drama and I was very upset - my good hubby hugged me and reminded me it's a journey, some weeks we plateau and remember you didn't gain.  I was upset because I had a good week training and eating so I couldn't understand.   I had 1/2 a cup of coffee and then went out for my run - it was cold and windy.  I old did 6 miles.  It was windy and it was constantly blowing in my face or across me.  I thought my head was going to explode because of the headache that I got from the wind blowing in my ears. ...

Slacker

3/17/14 - 3/23/14 Swim - 2 Bike - 2 Run - 2 Strength Training - 0 Weight loss (weekly / year) - 1 lbs / 3 lbs Mileage (weekly / 2014) -       Swim - 2000 yds / 12,800 yds      Bike - 44 miles / 333.18 miles      Run - 7.51 miles / 119.85 miles The past 2 weeks I feel like I have been slacking off because I haven't been getting all my scheduled workouts in.  My mentality has been, something is better than nothing.  That needs to change!  In 3 weeks I officially start my 1/2 IM training plan so I want to make the most of the next 3 weeks.  The training starts at shorter times and distances than what I have been doing so I want to make sure I go hard for the next 3 weeks, use the beginning as a recovery phase and then start to kick it up. On Friday I registered for the two other triathlons that I will be doing this year, both Olympic distance tri's.  I will use these as prep for the longer race in Sept...

Enjoying my workouts

3/3/14 - 3/9/14 Swim - 4 Bike - 2 Run - 2 Strength Training - 1 Weight loss (weekly / year) - 0 lbs / 6 lbs Mileage (weekly / 2014) -    Swim - 2800 yds / 9400 yds   Bike - 34 miles / 270.58 miles   Run - 8.44 miles / 99.02 miles I realized yesterday as I went outside for my weekly long run (5 miles this week) that I truly enjoy my workouts.  Whether in the pool at the gym with nothing but the sound of the water and only two things to focus on, my swim stroke and my breathing.  Rarely do I find my mind wandering to something other than what I'm doing at that very moment.  Or in spin class, listening to the great music the instructors play and working hard to increase my resistance or running early on a Saturday morning just as the sun comes up and hardly anyone in the neighborhood is up, except for the birds and the deer. My how my life has changed so much over the the past 2 years.  While I'm not at my ideal weight and I'm not the fastest swi...

Many distractions this week

2/24/14 - 3/2/14 Swim - 2 Bike - 2 Run - 2 Strength Training - 0 Weight loss (weekly / year) - 0 lbs / 6 lbs Mileage (weekly / 2014) -    Swim - 1800 yds / 6600 yds   Bike - 32 miles / 236.58 miles   Run - 7.91 miles / 90.58 miles This was a frustrating work week which led to some procrastination at the gym.  One thing I have been trying to practice is to leave work at work but sometimes it can get the best of me and this was one of those weeks, but rather than bag the entire week I was proud that I sucked it up and got at least 4 workout days in, so I'm not too disappointed.  I have been toying with the idea of getting a tri bike.  I LOVE my Felt 80, she has been very good to me but the hubby thinks with the longer races I need a better bike.  I agree but what if I complete the 1/2 IM and decide I don't want to do a full or never do a tri again???? The hubby says he doesn't think that will happen but I don't want to spend the money unless I r...
