Strength Training - 1
Weight loss (weekly / year) - 0 lbs / 6 lbs
Mileage (weekly / 2014) -
Swim - 2800 yds / 9400 yds
Bike - 34 miles / 270.58 miles
Run - 8.44 miles / 99.02 miles
I realized yesterday as I went outside for my weekly long run (5 miles this week) that I truly enjoy my workouts. Whether in the pool at the gym with nothing but the sound of the water and only two things to focus on, my swim stroke and my breathing. Rarely do I find my mind wandering to something other than what I'm doing at that very moment. Or in spin class, listening to the great music the instructors play and working hard to increase my resistance or running early on a Saturday morning just as the sun comes up and hardly anyone in the neighborhood is up, except for the birds and the deer.
My how my life has changed so much over the the past 2 years. While I'm not at my ideal weight and I'm not the fastest swimmer, cyclist or runner, I AM fitter and healthier, mentally and physically, than I have been in a very long time. Some times I wish I wouldn't have let my 30's pass me by because I realize I could have accomplished so much more than I actually did, but I have no regrets. My life is molded by opportunity and experiences that I have learned from and would not change. I have much more I want to accomplish and I will appreciate every day that my mind and body give me the opportunity to continue my journey.
I have been doing well mostly sticking to my workout schedule but my weight loss has been off track for awhile. This week I decided I needed to get back on track with that. My problem times are evenings and weekends so I am going to work on eating healthy meals in the evenings / weekends and work on avoiding the snacks!
